novaPDF OEM Upgrade

Our product installer (WiX bundle) includes the OEM installation MSIs.
We recently upgraded from novaPDF OEM v8 to v11. Having replaced the v8 MSIs with the v11 MSIs in our installer we are finding that when our installer does an upgrade of our product, the v8 novaPDF MSIs aren't removed until after the v11 novaPDF MSIs have been installed. This results in a printer name with a "(Copy 1)" suffix and appears to leave novaPDF in an unstable or incomplete state – printing to that printer doesn't work.
What can we do to rectify this?
