Email Delivery/Read receipts

I have request from my customers to include an ability to request Delivery and/or Read receipts on outgoing emails.
We use novaPDF to send PDF attachments via email using the SMTP option.

It appears on some occasions that while we think the emails have been sent, the receivers claim it has not.
Hence a delivery/read receipt will provide some level of assurance
